Commencing May 1, 1997, the Mayor and City Councilmembers shall be compensated as follows:
(A) The salary of any subsequently elected Mayor of the city is hereby set in the amount of $10,000 per annum for that position.
(B) Each subsequently elected City Councilmember shall receive the sum of $50 for each regular and specially called meeting of the City Council that he or she attends.
