§ 93.03 VACCINATION OF DOG AND CATS.
   (A)   Vaccination required; certificate.
      (1)   The owner or harborer of any dog or cat shall have it vaccinated against rabies by a veterinarian or other authorized person before reaching six months of age, and thereafter shall maintain a current vaccination schedule as recommended by the manufacturer of the rabies vaccine.
      (2)   The person vaccinating the dog or puppy, or cat, shall furnish a certificate of vaccination which shall be maintained by the owner or harborer of the animal.
   (B)   Written proof necessary. Unless the owner of any dog or cat furnishes written proof that the dog or cat has been vaccinated for rabies, by a licensed person, in accordance with division (A) above, the owner shall be guilty of an offense.
   (C)   Issuance of tag. When a veterinarian vaccinates a dog or cat against rabies, he or she shall issue to the owner of such dog or cat a metal tag or check evidencing such vaccination and the year of vaccination.
   (D)   Tag attached to animal. It shall be the duty of the owner of the dog or cat to attach the tag issued to him or her, pursuant to division (C) above, to the dog or cat, and it shall be unlawful for any person to remove such tag without the owner’s consent.
