In addition to the exits required in § 150.07, every building of three or more stories which is used for residence purposes by more than one family, or is used as a store, office or factory, and every building of more than one story which is used in whole or in part above the first story as a theater, school or auditorium shall be equipped with fire escapes in conformity with the statutes of the state governing types, construction, erection and location of fire escapes and exit doors, and with the rules and regulations adopted by the Department of Public Safety governing fire escape protection on buildings which are required to be equipped with fire escapes.
