(A) License requirement. It is unlawful to operate or carry on the business of junk dealer or to keep any junk shop, store or place for the purchase or sale of junk, rags, old rope, paper or bagging, old iron, brass, copper or empty bottles without having obtained a license therefor as is provided in this section.

(B) License application. Applications for such licenses shall be made in conformance with the general provisions relating to licenses.

(C) Fees. The fee for such licenses shall be as set forth in the license fee schedule on file and available for public inspection in the office of the City Clerk for each vehicle used in the conduct of such business; provided that a junk dealer not maintaining a store or yard in the city shall pay an amount as set forth in the license fee schedule on file and available for public inspection in the office of the City Clerk.

(D) Police Department examination right. Every keeper of a junk shop who shall receive or be in possession of any goods, articles or things of value which may have been lost or stolen shall, upon demand, produce and deliver up such article or thing to any member of the Police Department for examination.
