§ 94.40 DEFINITION; APPLICABILITY.
   For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   DANGEROUS ANIMAL. Any warm-blooded, carnivorous or omnivorous lion, tiger, leopard, ocelot, jaguar, cougar, cheetah, margay, mountain lion, lynx, bobcat, jaguarundi, bear, hyena, wolf, coyote, elephant, nonhuman primate or any hybrids thereof. A DANGEROUS ANIMAL can also mean any reptile or fish over six feet in length or reptile or fish that is poisonous or life threatening.
   ENDANGERED SPECIES. A species of animal in danger of becoming extinct as listed by the United States Government or Illinois State Department of Agriculture.
   WILD OR EXOTIC ANIMAL. A dangerous animal, endangered species or any animal which is not commonly considered a domestic animal. An animal which is normally classified as dangerous or endangered cannot be redefined as a domestic animal by an attempt by any person to domesticate a dangerous animal or endangered species.
