§ 52.106 MEASUREMENT OF FLOW.
The volume of flow used for computing user charges and surcharges shall be metered water consumption read to the lowest even increments of 1000 gallons.
   (A)   If any person procures any part or all of his water from sources other than the public water works system, and discharges all or part of such water in the public sewers, the person shall, within 90 days of the effective date of this section, install and maintain, at his expense, a water meter of a type approved by the PWD for the purpose of determining the volume of water obtained from such other sources. A charge for sewer only service shall be based on the volume of water obtained from such other sources in the same manner as water from the city waterworks system. This requirement shall apply to any person that is receiving only sewer service and not water service from the city. The PWD shall have the option to terminate or shut off the sewer service of any person that does not comply with the terms of this provision.
   (B)   Devices for measuring the volume of waste discharged may be required by the PWD if these volumes cannot otherwise be determined from the metered water consumption records.
   (C)   Metering devices for determining the volume of waste shall be installed, owned and maintained by the person. Following approval and installation, such meters may not be removed, unless service is canceled, without the consent of the PWD.
