(A) Appropriation and levy. The City Council deems it in the best interest of the city to appropriate and levy a city water fund tax for the extension and maintenance of waterworks in the city.

(B) Statutory authority. The appropriation and levy are made pursuant to ILCS Ch. 24, § 11-131-1.

(C) Levy by county. The County Clerk is directed to levy the tax for the 1976 tax year and all years following thereafter.
