§ 32.61 SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS.
   (A)   Office created. There is created the office of Superintendent of Streets, an executive office of the city, who shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Council.

   (B)   Powers and duties. The Superintendent of Streets shall have charge of the improvement, repair, care, maintenance and clearing of all public streets, avenues, alleys, highways, sidewalks and other public ways in the city, and he or she shall perform such other duties as may be required of him or her by the Council.

   (C)   Supervisory authority over employees and equipment. The Superintendent of Streets shall have charge and supervision of all persons employed by the city to labor on the streets, avenues and other public ways. He or she shall be responsible for all trucks, tractors, graders and other equipment or apparatus owned, purchased or leased by the city for use on the streets or alleys and shall see that they are kept in good repair and are not misused or used without proper permission.
