The health officer shall examine all cases of contagious diseases arising in the city and shall see to the enforcement of quarantine rules and determine the time for raising the quarantine. He or she shall give the Mayor and Council information and advice concerning the public health and shall perform such other duties as may be assigned him or her by the Mayor and Council.
