(A) Any police officer shall have the authority to enforce the requirements of this article pursuant to provisions of existing law.
(B) In addition to the police enforcement in subsection (A) of this section, the Chief of the Fire Department shall have authority to investigate any alleged violation of this article and shall act in the city’s behalf in filing complaints with the District Court resulting from his or her investigation.
