§ 14-5 BURIAL LOT PROPERTY DEEDS AND DEED TRANSFERS.
   (A)   When a city-owned burial lot is purchased, a property deed will be issued by the City Clerk at the time of purchase.
   (B)   Burial rights on a particular burial space may only be transferred from one party to another, if the transferring parties register the transfer at city hall and the transfer is entered into the official records of the city. Upon the transfer and recording, the City Clerk shall issue a new deed to the spaces in question and shall cancel and terminate the records of the original deed. A $10 maintenance charge for each grave space for which the transfer is being executed, will be charged.
   (C)   The appropriate deed for a burial space shall be presented to either the Cemetery Sexton or City Clerk prior to an interment in a city-owned cemetery. Where the deed has been lost or destroyed, the City Clerk shall determine if the person has the legal right to be buried in the burial space, before any interment is commenced. A minimum of 36 hours shall be given in advance of the time of the funeral to allow for the opening of the burial space.
