2.28.050   Duty to render aid -- Compensation for injuries.
   In addition to the performance of their regular and ordinary duties, it shall be the duty of all firemen to go to the aid of all persons, animals, or property in immediate distress or danger within the city and render to them such help and assistance as may lie within their power. The firemen shall also render such assistance outside the city limits upon order of the Chief of the Fire Department.
   In case any fireman should be injured while rendering such additional service as herein mentioned, he shall be deemed to have been injured within the course of his employment, and entitled to workmen's compensation therefor as provided by law. (2320.4 -- Ord. 433 § 5, 1935).
