The purpose of this chapter is to establish a uniform procedure relating to the vacation and abandonment of City streets, alleys, easements and other nonfee interests which the City may have in real property, but not to easements or land held in fee for park and recreation use. The provisions of the State Streets and Highways Code (Sec. 8300 et seq.) shall be followed with regard to the abandonment of public streets, alleys, lanes or courts; the State Streets and Highways Code (Sec. 8300 et seq.) shall be followed with regard to the vacation of other easements or special purpose easements dedicated to the City.
