§ 95.05 PRIVATE TREE PLANTING ON PUBLIC PROPERTY.
   (A)   Private planting on public right-of-way does not need approval of the city, however, the following guidelines are recommended.
   (B)   Spacing. The spacing shall generally conform with the designated small, medium and large categories. The spacing guidelines are as follows:
      (1)   Small trees, 30 feet;
      (2)   Medium trees, 40 feet; and
      (3)   Large trees, 50 feet, except in special plantings designated or approved by a landscape architect.
   (C)   Distance from curb and sidewalk. The distance trees may be planted from curbs or curblines and sidewalks will be in accordance with the city zoning code. The guidelines for distance based on three species size class are as follows:
      (1)   Small trees, two feet;
      (2)   Medium trees, three feet; and
      (3)   Large trees, four feet.
   (D)   Distance from street corners and fireplugs. No tree shall be planted closer than required by the zoning code. Twenty feet from any street corner, measured from the point of nearest intersecting curbs or curblines is the suggested placement. No tree shall be planted closer than ten feet of any fireplug.
   (E)   Tree planting privately on property owned by the city on public right-of-way shall be maintained by the abutting property owner in conformity with this chapter.
