(a) A Department of Planning and Data Analytics is hereby established is to assist the City Manager, the City Council, and other City officials in making sound policy decisions by collecting and analyzing data about all aspects of municipal operations and thereby providing decision makers with reliable information and advice.
(b) The department shall be supervised by a director who will be subject to appointment and removal by the city manager. The director's salary shall be set by the city manager in accordance with the city's compensation plan.
