Whenever this code designates and describes a stop intersection or through street, it shall be the duty of the City Traffic Engineer to place and maintain a stop sign on each street intersecting that portion thereof described and designated in schedules 4 and 5, maintained on file in the office of the Traffic Engineer, as such by this chapter or any ordinance of this city.
