All of the provisions of IC 18-6-25 are enacted by the city. This section shall not be amended or repealed in any manner that would provide pension benefits for those persons designated as sanitary officers, special sanitary officers or inspectors before April 1, 1982, below the benefits provided under IC 36-8-6 for police officers of second class cities hired May 1, 1977.
