(A) When not inconsistent with the context, words used in the present tense include the future and words in the singular number include the plural number. The word SHALL is mandatory.
(B) For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
AVENUE. Any rectilinear public way running continuously in an east-west direction.
COURT. Any cul-de-sac or other permanently terminated public way.
DRIVE. Any curvilinear public way.
LANE. Any renamed alley.
PLAT. A map or representation of a piece of land subdivided into lots, including streets, alleys, avenues, courts, drives and lanes.
STREET. Any rectilinear public way running continuously in a north-south direction.
