§ 51.061 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   BIOCHEMICAL OXYGEN DEMAND or BOD. The quantity of oxygen utilized in the biochemical oxidation of organic matter under standard laboratory procedure in five days at 20°C expressed in milligrams per liter.
   NONRESIDENTIAL USER. All users that are not residential users that introduce only domestic or primarily segregated domestic wastes into a building sewer.
   PRIMARILY SEGREGATED DOMESTIC WASTES. The sewage that is introduced into a building sewer and which contains not more than 50% industrial waste prior to any intentional dilution.
   RESIDENTIAL USER. All users that introduce only sanitary sewage resulting from household operations into a building sewer.
   SANITARY SEWAGE. The water-carried wastes from residences, hotels, restaurants or eating houses, or from business establishments or premises engaged solely in the sale, storage or repair of goods, wares or merchandise, and which contains garbage and human wastes.
   SEWER USE CHARGE. A monthly charge to all users of the wastewater facilities that is based on sewage volume, strength and/or flow.
   TOTAL SUSPENDED SOLIDS or TSS. Total suspended matter that either floats on the surface of, or is in suspension in, water, wastewater or other liquids and that is removable by laboratory filtering, as prescribed in Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, and referred to as NONFILTERABLE RESIDUE.
