§ 35.25 QUALIFICATIONS AND APPOINTMENT.
   All volunteer officers (operations, company or otherwise except social officers, but not including Assistant Fire Chiefs) and volunteer members of the Fire Department shall be appointed by the Fire Chief. All volunteer members and officers of the Fire Department must either be residents of or employed in the county or be able to respond to a sufficient number of emergencies within five minutes of being notified of an emergency, and must be at least 18 years of age. When qualified, any volunteer officer or member may elect to respond to fire runs only, to respond to EMS runs only, or to respond to both fire and EMS runs.
