§ 71.29 TRACTOR-TRAILERS AND OTHER LARGE VEHICLES.
   (A)   Definitions. For the purpose of this section, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
      OPERATE. To be in actual control of a motor vehicle upon a roadway of the city.
      SEMI-TRAILER. Any trailer intended for the carrying of freight or merchandise, designed to be attached to and having its front end supported by a truck tractor or other motor vehicle, and having a load capacity of at least 1,000 pounds.
      THROUGH-TRUCK. Any tractor-trailer operated upon a road within the city limits and not making a pickup or delivery at a business or residence within the city limits.
      TRACTOR-TRAILER. The combination of a semi-trailer and a truck tractor or other motor vehicle, or the combination of a trailer and truck tractor or other motor vehicle, with a combined total of at least three axles.
      TRAILER. Any vehicle intended for the carrying of freight or merchandise, designed to be drawn by a truck tractor or other motor vehicle, fully supported upon its own wheels, and having a load capacity of at least 1,000 pounds.
      TRUCK TRACTOR. Any motor- propelled vehicle designed to attach to and support the front end of a semi-trailer.
   (B)   Locations prohibited. The operation of through-trucks on that portion of Beechwood Road beginning at its intersection with Royal Drive and continuing in a westerly direction on Beechwood Road to the city limits is prohibited.
   (C)   Exceptions. The prohibitions contained in this section shall not apply to the following:
      (1)   Vehicles equipped with attachments for removing snow, when being used for that purpose during a declared snow emergency or as otherwise required to maintain safe conditions upon the roadways during periods of inclement weather;
      (2)   Vehicles being used for the distribution of salt or other material upon the roads, during a declared snow emergency or as otherwise required to maintain safe conditions upon the roadways during periods of inclement weather;
      (3)   Any emergency vehicle owned or operated by any city, county, state, or other governmental entity.
   (D)   The Police Department of the city is hereby authorized and instructed to erect appropriate signage to provide notice of the provisions herein.
