§ 90.09 POLICE TO TAKE POSSESSION; ENTRY.
   (A)   Any and all animals found at large within the city in violation of this section, and all unlicensed dogs or cats, shall be taken into custody by the Fort Mitchell Police Department and/or officers, Animal Control officers or other empowered officials of the city.
   (B)   For the purposes of this chapter, police officers of the city, Animal Control officers or other empowered officials, shall have specific authority to enter upon private property for the purpose of inspecting or checking animals to determine if they are properly licensed or abandoned and for the purpose of taking into custody any unlicensed animal, any animal found at large within the city, abandoned animal or any animal found upon the property of anyone other than the owner of the animal.
   (C)   Police officers, Animal Control officers or other empowered officials may use any reasonable means and force necessary to take control and possession of animals found in violation of this chapter, including, but not limited to, using tranquilizer guns or devices. Police, Animal Control officers or other empowered officials shall not be liable, civilly or criminally, for animals that unintentionally are injured or killed in the process of taking control or possession of the animals as provided herein.
   (D)   The provisions of this section and other sections of this chapter are in addition to the rights and powers granted to any peace officer or any other officer under the provisions of KRS 257.100 and other provisions of the Kentucky Revised Statutes and not in limitation thereof.
