(A) No officer or employee of the city or a city agency shall employ, appoint, promote, transfer or advance his/her family member to an office or position of compensated employment with the city or a city agency unless the employment appointment, promotion, transfer or advancement is approved by action of the City Council.
(B) No officer or employee of the city or a city agency shall directly supervise or manage the work of a family member of the officer or employee who is compensated by the city or city agency for the work unless the supervision or management is approved by action of the City Council.
(C) The prohibitions in this section shall not apply to any relationship or situation that would violate the prohibition, but which existed prior to January 1, 1995.
