§ 35.70 PRELIMINARY INTERVIEWS.
The chief of the applicable department, together with two additional interviewers selected by the chief from the department, will conduct a preliminary interview with each applicant receiving one of the top ten numerical scores on the written examination and successfully completing the physical agility test. The purpose of this preliminary interview will be to review each candidate's application, verify information and score each applicant based upon his or her credentials and potential for appointment. The preliminary interview score will be based upon criteria, including but not limited to, education, training, work experience, special certifications and performance during the interview. The preliminary interview score will constitute one-third of each applicant's final score and together with the written examination test score (two-thirds of the score) will determine each applicant's composite score and final placement on the eligibility list.
