The city shall establish a date and time to conduct a written examination for eligible applicants in order to establish a list of qualified applicants. The date and time of said written examination shall be determined by the city and no applicant shall be permitted to take the examination at another date and time. The written examination test instrument shall be selected by the City Administrative Officer and/or Chief of the Police or Fire Department and shall conform with generally accepted human resource testing standards. The test shall be scored independently, by the company that developed said test instrument or a qualified representative. The applicants receiving the top ten numerical scores on the written examination shall proceed to the physical agility component of the examination process.
