§ 35.65 ELIGIBILITY.
   To be eligible for appointment as a Police Officer an applicant must be at least 21 years of age, have graduated from high school or have received a G.E.D. or high school diploma through an external diploma program, not have been convicted of a felony, be a certified Police Officer recognized by the State of Kentucky (Kentucky Law Enforcement Certification) or the ability to achieve such certification in a timely manner, possess a clean driving record suitable for insurability by the city and satisfy all applicable state and federal eligibility requirements. To be eligible for appointment as a Firefighter/Paramedic an applicant must be at least 18 years of age, graduated from high school or have received a G.E.D. or high school diploma through an external diploma program, possess a paramedic (ALS) license recognized and approved by the State of Kentucky, or have the ability to obtain such certification in a timely manner, be a Kentucky Certified Firefighter recognized by the Kentucky Fire Commission or have the ability to obtain such certification in a timely manner, possess a clean driving record suitable for insurability by the city and satisfy all applicable state and federal eligibility requirements.
