§ 35.16 POLICE PERMITTED TO CARRY DEADLY WEAPONS.
   (A)   All members of the regular Police Department of the city who carry deadly weapons on or about their persons when performing their duties as members of the Police Department of the city, are hereby authorized to carry concealed deadly weapons on or about their persons at all times within the state.
   (B)   The deadly weapons which may be carried by the members of the regular Police Department are those weapons that are usually carried by the officers in performing their duties when on regular duty within the city, or as otherwise approved by the Police Chief.
   (C)   It is the intent and purpose of this section to protect the members of the Police Department of the city from prosecution under the provisions of KRS 527.020 (1) on those occasions when they are outside of the corporate limits of the city and within the boundaries of the state.
