Fire Department employees will be paid at hourly rates established by ordinance from time to time for the first 40 hours of work each week, and one and one-half times that rate for all additional hours worked each week. In the event that a need for overtime should occur in the Fire Department because of emergency, sickness, or other unforeseen conditions, the hourly rates, as established by ordinance from time to time, shall be paid. In the event of a previously-scheduled 24-hour overtime shift, rates established by ordinance from time to time shall be paid.
