(A) No person, firm, or corporation shall operate or conduct a taxicab business in the city without first having obtained the required taxicab licenses from the Director of Finance, or some other person designated by the City Council, and fully paying for it. No license to operate or conduct a taxicab business shall be granted until and unless the applicant therefor shall file in the office of the Director of Finance an application on forms provided by the city.
(B) Each person, firm, or corporation owning or operating taxicabs in the city shall pay an annual license tax of $25 for each taxicab operated. The licenses shall be for one year from July 1 to June 30, inclusive.
