§ 97.40 NUMBERING OF HOUSES AND BUILDINGS.
   All houses and buildings fronting on any street in the city shall be numbered as provided below.
   (A)   The numbers shall be plain figures, not less than three inches in height and two inches in width. They shall be of a color and material so as to be readily seen, and shall be placed so as to be easily seen from the street. All numbers throughout the city shall be as nearly uniform in character and size as possible.
   (B)   Numbers on all streets shall be on the basis of one number for each 25 feet of land, whether improved or vacant. Where this division shall include land owned by different persons, the number shall be given to the greater part of the division.
   (C)   On all streets running northwardly and southwardly, even numbers shall be used on the east side of the street and odd numbers on the west side. On the streets running eastwardly and westwardly, even numbers shall be used on the south side of the street and odd numbers on the north side.
   (D)   On all streets running in the general direction eastwardly or westwardly from Ft. Thomas Avenue and the Alexandria Road from its intersection with Ft. Thomas Avenue, numbers shall begin at the intersection of those streets with Ft. Thomas Avenue and that part of the Alexandria Road. Where streets do not intersect with Ft. Thomas Avenue and the Alexandria Road, numbers shall begin at the termination of the streets nearest Ft. Thomas Avenue and the Alexandria Road.
   (E)   On all streets running in the general direction northwardly and southwardly from Highland Avenue and Millers Lane, numbers shall begin at the intersection of those streets with Highland Avenue and Millers Lane. Where streets do not intersect with Highland Avenue and Millers Lane, numbers shall begin at the termination of the streets nearest Highland Avenue and Millers Lane.
   (F)   A general map or plat of the city shall be prepared by the General Services Department and completed in accordance with the provisions of this subchapter. This plat shall be revised and corrected by the City Engineer as additions are required. It shall be kept by the General Services Department as a public record of the city.
