§ 30.01 ORGANIZATION AND FORM OF GOVERNMENT.
   (A)   Pursuant to KRS 83A.020 and 83A.020 (2), the city hereby elects to retain the organization and structure of its city government existing on July 14, 1980, immediately before the effective date of KRS 83A.020 and 83A.020 (2).
   (B)   For the purposes of the organization and structure of the government of the city, those sections of state law pursuant to which city government operated on July 14, 1980, shall continue as direction and controlling the organization and structure of city government, notwithstanding their respective repeal.
   (C)   Ordinances and resolutions of the city are hereby declared to remain in force and effect, and any ordinance citing or relying on a section in force and effect, and any ordinance citing or relying on a section of state law repealed by the 1980 regular session of the General Assembly shall be deemed to refer to the repealed statute for purposes of structure, procedure, and operation only, and not for the grant of any power or authority found in the section.
   (D)   Enactment of this section is for purposes of compliance with KRS 83A.020 (2), and is pursuant to KRS 83A.020.

   (E)   The form of government provided for this city shall be known as the "Mayor-Council Plan."
