§ 70.17 CITY ENGINEER AS CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER.
   (A)   The office of City Traffic Engineer is established. The City Engineer shall serve as City Traffic Engineer in addition to his other functions, and shall exercise the powers and duties with respect to traffic as provided in this chapter.
   (B)   It shall be the general duty of the City Traffic Engineer to determine the installation and proper timing and maintenance of traffic-control devices, to conduct engineering analysis of traffic accidents and to devise remedial measures to conduct engineering investigation of traffic conditions. The City Traffic Engineer shall cooperate with other city officials in the development of ways and means to improve traffic conditions, and shall carry out the additional powers and duties imposed by ordinance of this city.
   (C)   Compensation shall be in the amount as established by the City Council from time to time as set forth in the city's personnel and pay classification plan.
   (D)   No person shall be appointed or act as the City Traffic Engineer unless such person has taken the oath required by section 228 of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and has provided bond, if required, with corporate surety authorized to transact business in Kentucky and conditioned upon the performance of the duties specified herein.
