An animal or fowl seized under the provisions of section 3-4 shall be placed in the pound or delivered to the county animal control officer. If the owner of the impounded animal or fowl can be determined, such owner shall be notified by the police department of the impoundment.
All animals or fowls not claimed within four (4) days after such notification, or not claimed within four (4) days after impoundment if the owner thereof cannot be determined, shall be disposed of by a proper authority.
The city and enforcing officer shall incur no liability in the lawful seizure, killing or disposal of any animal or fowl. (5-17-73, 4, 7-19-82)
