133.02 AGE LIMITS AND RESIDENCIES OF ORIGINAL APPOINTEES.
   (a)   Persons receiving an original appointment to the Fire Department must have attained eighteen years of age, but no older than forty years of age, per R.C. 124.41 at the date of appointment and shall be residents of the continental United States.

   (b)   Pursuant to Ohio R.C. 9.481(B)(2) to ensure adequate response times by the Fire Department to emergencies or disasters, as a condition of employment all applicants for the Fire Department shall reside either in Sandusky County where the political subdivision (Fremont) is located or in any adjacent county in the State of Ohio or signify in writing his or her intention to become, within a year after appointment, a resident of Sandusky County or an adjacent county.
