(a) It shall be the responsibility of city forces to perform inspection on all Public and Class A Private Hydrants.
(1) Should maintenance be required on a Class A Private Hydrant, city forces will notify hydrant owner via certified mail detailing what work needs to be performed and a deadline for correction.
(2) Hydrant owner shall be responsible for all management and costs associated with maintenance of Class A Private Hydrants.
(b) It shall be the responsibility of the Hydrant owner to perform inspection and maintenance on all Class B Private Hydrants.
(1) Class B Private Hydrants must be inspected and recorded as being in acceptable condition by an individual or organization who is certified through the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of the State Fire Marshal.
(2) Inspections and maintenance shall be performed in accordance with the Ohio Fire Code and NFPA 25.
