Whenever any communicable, infectious, or contagious disease exists in any community, the Health Officer, in order to prevent the spread of such disease, may order the closure of schools, picture shows, and other places of public assemblage for such time as he may deem necessary and it shall be the duty of school officials and other responsible persons to comply with such orders. In case the necessity for such order is questioned, the State Commissioner of Health may be appealed to for confirmation of the order.
