(a) Curb Cuts. Curb cut widths shall be kept to the minimum needed for safe ingress from and egress to the street. Residential driveway approaches shall not exceed twenty-four feet (24') wide at the tangent to the curb radii, and commercial/industrial driveway approaches shall not exceed thirty-five feet (35') wide unless approved by the Director of Public Works.
(b) Cement. Driveway approaches shall be constructed of Portland Cement Concrete with a recommended seven inches (7") typical thickness and six inches (6") minimum thickness and in accordance with applicable sections of the State Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. Asphalt approaches may be approved by the Director of Public Works where (i) an existing approach currently exists which is made of asphalt, and (ii) the use of the property serviced is determined to be suitable for an asphalt approach due to low traffic volume or other relevant factors.
