The State of Illinois has elected to supercede the authority of local governments to independently regulate those aspects of construction and building specification which pertain to energy efficiency by enacting the Illinois Energy Conservation Code, 71 Ill. Admin. Code pt. 600. As such, the current version of the Illinois Energy Conservation Code in force as of the date of inspection of any work to be permitted hereunder, is hereby adopted as the Energy Conservation Code of the City, and any prior version in effect, if any, of same are specifically repealed at this time.
