There shall be an additional factor used in determining the allowable sign area for all signs in all areas, except for nonconforming and poster panel signs. For each twenty feet of setback from the public right-of-way line, there shall be an additional one percent of allowable sign area, but in no case shall this additional amount exceed fifteen percent. For example, if the normal percentage allowed is ten percent and the sign is located 200 feet from the right of way, the total percentage would be twenty percent.
The gross allowable area for any type of sign may be divided among two or more signs of an area less than the total allowable gross area.
