As used in this chapter:
(a) "Awning" means any structure made of cloth or metal, with a metal frame attached to a building, and projecting over a thoroughfare, so erected as to permit its being raised to a position flat against the building when not in use.
(b) "Canopy" means any structure made of cloth or metal with a metal frame attached to a building, projecting over a thoroughfare, and carried by a frame supported by the ground or sidewalk.
(c) "Marquee" means any hood or awning of permanent construction projecting from, and supported only by, the wall of a building and extending over a thoroughfare.
(d) "Street clock" means any timepiece projecting from the exterior of any building or structure, for the convenience of the public.
