(a) The house service from the curb cock to the building shall:
(1) Have a diameter of not less than one inch copper tubing size (CTS);
(2) Have a minimum 200 pounds per square inch (psi) rating;
(3) Include a tracer wire with minimum specifications of 12 gauge solid coated copper in the case of nonmetallic services; and
(4) Shall otherwise meet all standards of the Illinois Plumbing Code.
(b) In the case of an existing structure, if a metallic service is being replaced by a non-metallic service, and the metallic service had served as the electrical ground for the structure:
(1) The pipe from the existing metallic service may continue to serve as electrical ground, provided a length of at least twenty feet remain attached; or
(2) A new electrical ground is established prior to disconnection of the existing metallic service pipe.
