Each officer, employee or agent of the City, including an employee of the Board of Library Trustees and of the Board of Water and Sewer Commissioners, shall be defended, indemnified and held harmless by the City for any suit, damages, obligation or liability whatsoever growing out of any act, or failure to act, in the course of his or her particular employment, except for an act of willful misconduct.
