Subject and in conformance with any and all applicable statutes, laws and ordinances regarding the removal of appointed officers, the City Manager or Mayor, as applicable, shall have power to remove any officer appointed by him or her whenever, in his or her sole opinion, the interests of the City demand such removal. The City Manager or Mayor, as applicable, shall report any removal to Council at the first meeting after such removal. If applicable and in accordance with law, the Council, by a two-thirds vote of all members, by yeas and nays entered upon the record, disapproves of such removal, such officer shall thereupon be restored to the office, but he or she shall give a new bond and take a new oath of office.
