Council hereby expresses its approval of the participation of the City in the Freeport/Stephenson County Convention and Visitors Bureau, a non-profit entity incorporated under the laws of the State of Illinois, which shall be governed by a Board of Directors to be composed of nine members. The Mayor is hereby authorized to appoint, subject to Council approval, five members of the Board of Directors of said Bureau, to include one Alderperson, two at-large members, one member from the local lodging industry and one member from the local chamber of commerce. The Mayor may remove any such appointed Director, subject to confirmation of such removal by the City Council. Any Director appointed by the Mayor who misses three consecutive meetings of the Board of Directors of the Freeport/Stephenson County Convention and Visitors Bureau may be removed by the Mayor, subject to confirmation of such removal by the City Council. The Chairperson of the Stephenson County Board shall appoint, subject to County Board approval, four members of the Board of Directors, to include one County Board member, two at-large members and one member from the local lodging industry. If there exists a hotel or motel located in an incorporated area of Stephenson County, other than in the City, then one of the County Board Chairperson's at-large appointments must be a domiciliary of that incorporated community. The Board of Directors shall elect its Chairperson from among its members.
All five of the Mayoral appointees shall be domiciliaries of the City.
All four of the County Board Chairperson's appointees shall be domiciliaries of the County of Stephenson.
