(A) Purpose. There is hereby created a Junior Fire Department, the purpose of which is to provide young adults the opportunity to learn fire safety.
(B) Chairperson. A Chairperson of the Junior Fire Department will be appointed by the Council. The person need not be a member of the Fire Department.
(C) Duties. The duties of the Chairperson will be to provide leadership and organization for the Junior Fire Department.
(D) Membership. Any youth under the age of 18 may join and participate in the Junior Fire Department.
(E) Organization. At the discretion of the Chairperson for the Junior Fire Department, the junior firefighters may be organized into more than one group separated by age of the youth. Maximum junior firefighters to receive benefits is 12.
