(A) The Council shall require each officer of the town to give bond for the due discharge of his or her duties in sums and with the security as it may direct and approve as determined by resolution and the town shall pay the costs of the bond.
(B) A failure on the part of any elective or appointive officer, to file the bond required by this subchapter, for a period of 30 days after receiving notice of the election or appointment, shall operate to cause a vacancy in the office.
