A subdivision plat shall conform to the principles and standards of the town’s general plan and the town’s planning and zoning ordinance as adopted by the Council. It shall conform to the elements thereof with respect to the type and intensity of land use, population densities and distribution, locations and sizes of public areas and rights-of-way and improvement of streets. The alignment of major and secondary streets shall conform with the alignments shown on the town general plan and the town’s transportation study, or as required by the Council.
