§ 94.040 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   AT LARGE. Off the premises of the owner not under the control of the owner, or other persons acting for the owner.
   COLLAR. A band, chain, harness or suitable device worn around the neck of the dog to which a license may be affixed.
   DOG. A member of the canis familiaris family.
   HUMANE OFFICER. All police officers of the town who shall perform the duties pertaining to the officers. It is their duty to enforce all the laws and ordinances of the town pertaining to cruelty to animals and to enforce all the provisions of this subchapter.
   OWNER. Any person owning, keeping, possessing, harboring or maintaining a dog.
   POUND. Any establishment authorized by the town for the confinement, maintenance, safekeeping and control of dogs that come into the custody of the Police Department.
   POUNDKEEPER. The Town Marshal. He or she shall be ex-officio Poundkeeper without extra compensation. He or she shall perform all duties as are now or may hereafter be required of a Poundkeeper by the laws of the state or by ordinances of the town.
   VACCINATION. An anti-rabies vaccination using a type of vaccine approved by the state veterinarian.
