Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, the violation of any of the provisions of this chapter shall be considered a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, the offender shall be subject to a fine of not more than $25 for each offense. Every day such violation exists shall constitute a separate offense and be punishable as such. In default of payment of such fine, the offender shall be imprisoned for a period not exceeding 90 days.
