(A) Block length and width or acreage within bounding streets shall be such as to accommodate the size of lot required in the area by the zoning regulations and to provide for convenient access, circulation control and safety of street traffic.
(B) The maximum block dimension shall be 1,800 feet. In the design of blocks longer than 1,000 feet special construction shall be given to the provision of pedestrian interior walkways near the center, or wherever most useful to facilitate pedestrian circulation to a school, park, recreation area, shopping center, bus stop or other significant neighborhood destination. Walkways will only be approved if maintained by individual lot owners, a homeowners’ association or similar organization.
(C) Residential blocks shall be of sufficient depth to accommodate 2 tiers of lots of minimum depth, except where double frontage lots bordering a controlled-access highway/street or floodplain are used.
